What is TEAM training?
The Equity Alliance Matrix, commonly referred to as TEAM, is an intense three-day seminar where you learn the system of proper equity management and strategic repositioning of assets. We will teach you how to implement the strategies as well as how to market these powerful concepts to your clients. Over 2,000 financial professionals have attended this career-changing experience.
What will I get from the TEAM experience?
The take home values that we focus on delivering to you are:
- License to use Missed Fortune intellectual property including
seminar slides, scripts, logo, unique client process, etc.
- Missed Fortune strategic case design to help you illustrate
these concepts effectively
- Ability to represent yourself as a TEAM trained professional
- Use the Missed Fortune production process in your practice
- Missed Fortune marketing training and tools
What occurs at TEAM training?
This is an intense three day curriculum. From early the first day this focused education will give you the details of plan design and illustration, the marketing details that has created our own production success, the client process that we deliver to our own customers, and cutting edge high touch concepts that will differentiate yourself from your competition. The days are long, the training is substantial, and the value is huge. Training in most cases is done at our own office in Salt Lake City, Utah. This gives you the ability to see how our office is laid out and how we create an environment contusive to these financial strategies.
What is the basic agenda and are meals a part of TEAM training?
Because of this intense curriculum we keep all training on site at our own offices in SLC. We start at 8 am and go until at least 6 pm each day. A continental breakfast is provided each day along with a large lunch. On Thursday we will go until 7 pm, after which we attend a group dinner at one of our local four star restaurants.
What about my travel and lodging?
We have a corporate rate established with three hotels: the Marriott Residence Inn, the Crystal Inn and the Holton Homewood Suites. They all have high-speed internet access and most of the amenities. Each hotel has a buffet breakfast. Please make reservations as early as possible since there are certain times of the year the rooms fill up quickly, especially ski season. (Please note that we will always have a continental breakfast at our facility each day.) If staying at the Residence Inn you will want to arrange transportation to/from the airport. If you stay at the Hilton Homewood Suites you will want to rent a car. They have no shuttle service.
Do you have a finance option for TEAM?
Yes, we do. After you make your deposit for TEAM training, you can elect the payment option. The first payment does not need to be paid until one month following your TEAM training. These monthly payments are due each month until your TEAM balance is paid in full.

Is TEAM training for mortgage professionals or just insurance
agents and financial planners?
TEAM training is absolutely for mortgage professionals who are interested in leading the marketplace with equity management and mortgage planning. As a side note, many of those teaching equity management in the marketplace started with TEAM training.
Tell me more about how an insurance specialist and a mortgage professional will work together after training?
The Missed Fortune strategies bring together debt managers and asset managers in a whole new way. We constantly hear how much easier it is to work with a professional on the opposite side of the business when they are TEAM trained. Not only do you speak the same “language” but both are dedicated to “doing it right” and repositioning the equity into the proper financial vehicles.
After TEAM training we will help you contact others within your own community who have gone through training and may be able to help you with your business.
Once I separate the equity, does it have to go into insurance contracts?
This is perhaps the most important point to the Missed Fortune strategies. To follow the principles of liquidity, safety of principle, and rate of return, maximum funded life insurance should be the vehicle of choice in most situations. In most cases, financial professionals who are redirecting serious home equity cash into other vehicles, other than life insurance - sometimes promising much greater return - are not in alignment with the Missed Fortune strategies.
How is TEAM different from other mortgage equity management trainings?
TEAM is the original source for equity management training in the industry. Many of those who are teaching equity management in the marketplace started with TEAM training. In TEAM training we teach what a mortgage professional should look for in a maximum funded life insurance contract. This gives you, the mortgage planner, the ability to filter through the Missed Fortune “pretenders” and do what is best for your client and their “serious” money.
Are most insurance companies comfortable with the Missed Fortune concepts?
Most insurance companies have now heard of the Missed Fortune books and concepts but many products on the marketplace do not work well with as a maximum funded life insurance contract – whether the reasons are liquidity, internal rate of return or other objections. At TEAM training we go more in depth on what products we use and why.
Will someone be able to answer my questions after TEAM training?
After leaving our three day TEAM training our support will continue. Our staff members will assist you in:
- Cultivating alliances within your marketplace
- Getting other professionals within your sphere of influence properly trained
- Your own case implementation
- Proper plan design and illustration
- Intellectual property license questions
Do I have to move my contracts to Missed Fortune? Will I be
recruited to a specific company?
The primary purpose of TEAM is to equip you with the basic knowledge you will need to implement Missed Fortune once you go home. For in depth support when you go home, specifically with your insurance business, we encourage you to work with those who introduced you to TEAM training. If your IMO (independent marketing organization)/FMO (field marketing organization) is an MFA partner they will be the primary source from which you will receive your in depth support. If you are independent and do not have opportunities for deep support, we have created the Missed Fortune Producer Group to assist you.
What is the Missed Fortune Producer Group?
After several years of TEAM training and hearing feedback from many of those insurance agents that we trained, a common chord that we heard again and again was the need for more in depth and comprehensive support on everything from structuring a policy, finding additional training and mentoring, and insurance product training and information. The MFPG was created to fill this void for our customers and optimize their success. For more information on this group go to www.missedfortuneproducergroup.com or e-mail them at producergroup@missedfortune.com
Does TEAM training include marketing and sales techniques and tools?
Definitely! Marketing and sales tools are some of the key components to closing Missed Fortune business, whether mortgage loans or insurance sales. During the training you will receive a variety of tools such as our Missed Fortune seminar and script that can be used in seminars, small meetings, or one on one. There are a number of additional tools and techniques that will also be taught during your three day experience with us.
After TEAM training, what marketing tools are available
to TEAM professionals?
Immediately after attending TEAM you will receive a FREE TEAM toolbox ($500) value that includes a variety of Missed Fortune materials. This includes books, client brochures, client CDs, and seminar DVDs. Exclusive to TEAM members are our dynamic sales and marketing materials that can be purchased for 65% off retail (Client Brochures with CD, Client Brochure CDs only, Seminar DVDs, Success Formula meeting booklet with 2 CDs, and future products). In addition, TEAM members can purchase after event book copies for 40% off retail.
Who can help me on my insurance cases?
We suggest going to supporting organization (where your insurance contracts are placed) for specific help with cases. They should be able to help with everything from structuring a policy, finding additional training and mentoring, and insurance product training and information. If your IMO/FMO is a MFA partner they will be the primary source from which you will receive your in depth support. If your organization is not able to support you, we suggest looking into the Missed Fortune Producer Group.
Can I come back to TEAM for a refresher?
Yes, after your initial training you can come back to TEAM for a refresher for significantly reduced prices. One option is to attend TEAM training again for absolutely no charge when you refer another financial professional who attends TEAM training. A second option is to attend TEAM A with Doug Andrew for $1500 or TEAM B with our other Missed Fortune instructors for $1000. We have found that those TEAM members who come back for a refresher within 90 days of their first TEAM experience are notably more successful in their practice.
